Lace Front Wigs - The Backbone of Entertainment Styling [25 Jul 2011|09:24am]
Think about the last time you watched a televised variety show like Saturday Night Live, or an awards show with lots of quick costume changes. You may have noticed that the actors' hair seemed very realistic, despite the fact that it was styled completely differently just a few moments ago. You know there's no time to completely restyle the actor's hair, so wigs must come into the equation somehow -- but wigs always look so fake. So what's the answer?

The answer is lace front wigs. They're one of the foundations of hairstyling in the entertainment industry, and the finest wigs available.

The reason many wigs don't seem realistic is because many don't conform properly to the shape of the wearer's head, and because the hair doesn't seem as though it's issuing directly from the scalp. But every wig has a flexible mesh whose job is to shape to the wearer's head. But a lace front wig's mesh is especially well-crafted, and is very fine at the front, so the hairline looks more realistic. What's more, lace fronts are made from real human hair. They'll stand up to all but the most close-up, meticulous inspections.

They were initially made for women who lost hair to chemotherapy. But soon, they were discovered by professional stylists and makeup artists who work for films and television shows. Also big fans of lace fronts: Drag queens. And nobody pays more attention to detail than drag queens.

Their strongest popularity, though, is in the black hair community. Things like hair weaves, extensions and relaxers can get expensive, and celebrity wigs are a thrifty and easy-to-maintain alternative. They're also more versatile, and allow easier styling -- you don't have to try to match the wig's hairline to your own.

Choosing The Right Lace Front Wig [20 Jul 2011|09:29am]
Lace wigs have been considered a great discovery in the world of fashion and entertainment. Though it all started with the conventional synthetic hair pieces, this has become a necessity with people who are frequently in the limelight. These systems allow for spontaneity in a fabulous way. When applied properly they imitate hair growing from your own scalp, and evolved the fashion world forever.

However, not only it is beneficial for fashion, it has also been considered a helpful accessory in the medical field, too. People suffering with specific medical conditions that cause balding or lost of hair have come to realize the benefits these hair extensions give them. A far advancement from the old wigs we used to see, these wigs are more real-looking hair and even unrecognizable from a distance. It is even undetectable from just a few inches away. This can give them the confidence to face the world again without the self pity, knowing that they still look good, despite the fact that they no longer have their full hair.

There are different kinds of lace wigs available to choose from. Depending on the look that you would like to achieve, your selection will depend on your personal preference. There are also two kinds of these wigs - the full lace and the lace front wigs. The difference is basically just the cap coverage. There are a few advantages and disadvantages in these two different wigs, though both primarily target the same result.

Convenience can be described as the best advantage when choosing a lace front wig among these two lace wigs. This may be because of the fact that it is lighter compared to the full lace unit. Although it covers the full of your head, it can only be attached on the hairline area, thus decreasing the time of application. The only downside with this wig though, is its inability to be pulled up or put in a bun. Also when choosing a lace front unit, you must consider the proper length. It is safe to just wear the hair down or style it for the lace wig to not be visible. A medium length wig can work well, but long locks can also look perfect, especially if you like to wear it down often. You should also consider a shade which can enhance your looks. The style can be chosen from a wide selection that is available to you.

The Use of Adhesives to Apply Your Full Lace Wig [19 Jul 2011|09:23am]
Full lace front wigs for women are now well known within the entertainment industry due to actors, actresses and our most admired celebrities. Due to that, they have now become the most sought out hair accessory in the world. Ordinary men and women are now using it for a variety of reasons from the use of a hair replacement system to fashion. Its use began in the theatrical industry to alter and improve the appearance of a character and bring the movie, show and cast to life. The undetectable nature of the system caught the attention of the medical industry as an alternative for patients with Alopecia or have lost their hair due to a medical condition. However the cost per unit was quite high, even for those that required the product, therefore it was only available for the privileged or the wealthy.

It wasn't until recently that manufacturers began to reduce their price to make it affordable for distributors, who would then transfer the savings to consumers. Once that occurred and ordinary consumers started to monitor the trend, the demand for full lace wigs increased exponentially. Once people acquired the product, they then had to have it applied and during that transition period, the most common way of applying such a unit was through the use of adhesives such as glue and tape.

Due to that issues with its use began to arise. Some consumers found that certain adhesives were not strong enough for a lasting hold that last anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Others complained that the use of them resulted in further hair loss or mild skin irritations.

Manufactures of adhesives went back to the drawing board and during that process, companies within a similar industry took the opportunity to develop products that could appeal to different needs and skin types. Today there seems to be a wide selection of adhesives available to consumers; however each brand type has their own pros and cons.

Have you ever considered the smell of an adhesive when attempting its use? A corrosive or strong odor to an adhesive is a pro being that you can rely on its application to be secure and long lasting, a con can be that it may be considered a hazardous chemical and may cause harm to your hair and skin.

It's generally best to test the adhesive on your skin the day prior to application to ensure its safety.

An alternative application method instead of adhesives is to apply clips to the wig for easy application and removal. In addition, you can also sew your wig. Whichever application you choose, ensure its best suited for your lifestyle and overall goal in purchasing a full lace wig.

However, applying chemicals to your hair on a consistent basis generally leads to damage.

The hair innovations ranged from shampoos to conditioners and flat irons. They would essentially save the consumer time, money and heartache. What Are Lace Wigs, How Are They Created and Who Wears Lace Wigs? [15 Jul 2011|09:27am]
Lace wigs have been around for many centuries. They are worn by many celebrities and women to enhance appearance. This type of hair replacement gives them the opportunity to try new hairstyles without damage to their own hair. There are people who have undergone medical treatments and have lost all of their hair. Lace hair pieces, called cranial prosthesis in the medical world, can help give the person a solution by attaching hair that looks natural and will go undetected so they can live their lives as normal. Men also wear these full lace wigs to enhance their looks and conceal balding as they start to age. When men wear them, they do not call it a wig but would prefer to call it a toupee or hair piece.

Lace wigs are made using a thin piece of lace for the base and each hair is individually attached to the lace with a special needle. This process is called ventilation. After the wig is completed, the lace around the edge of the wig is usually glued to your scalp using special adhesives that make the lace invisible. The result, if done correctly, is a wig that does not look like a fake. It should look as though the hair is growing directly from the scalp and no one will be able to tell it is not your actual hair.

Years ago wigs made with lace were very expensive. Only the very wealthy and famous people could afford to buy them. They were expensive because it took about 40 hours to create one hair piece and not many people knew the skill of making lace wigs. It was not uncommon for a full lace hair cheap lace wig to cost anywhere from $1000 to $5000 or more depending on the quality of hair you chose. As lace wigs have become more common in modern culture, they have also become more affordable. Nowadays, they can be purchased online or in hair supply stores in many countries.

There are many types of these types of hair pieces to choose from today. You can pick human hair, synthetic or blended, long, medium or short, straight, wavy or curly. There are an endless variety of colors to pick from as well. If you love to try different hairstyles and colors like I do, then wearing lace wigs may be a great option for you.

Take Care Of Your Lace Wigs [14 Jul 2011|09:21am]
Do you have your own lace wigs? Do you know how to protect your lace wigs and make them have a long life? As long as you try to do this, you can definitely protect your lace wigs in quite good condition. You should take care of your wig and make it work for a long time.

You should keep the hair clean enough. You should wash your wig regularly, but not too often, or you will do harm to it. Every time after you wear your wig, you should comb it with specific comb softly, do not with too much strength. And when you find your wig is tangled, comb it with patience. You should comb it from the end to the scalp, slowly and slowly, little by little. Your hair is very weak and only soft care can make it have a long life. When you want to wash it, you can either choose warm water or cold water.

If you still want to wear the wig when you go to bed, then you can choose to make braids in your hair, but before that you should make sure that your hair is not tangled, or you will make your hair in a mess. One thing you should keep in mind is that you should make sure your hair is dry completely before you go to sleep.

Sometimes your lace wigs will shed, don't worry, it is common, the full lace wigs can shed easier than other kinds of lace wigs. Some people find their wigs slip when they wear the hair, then you should use the wig glue to make it attached well.

Ways to Make Your Full Lace Wig Look More Natural [11 Jul 2011|09:15am]
While full lace wigs are natural in appearance due the lace base, some are better than the rest. More affordable full lace-wigs and lace fronts are flooding the market. However, more is not always better. With so many women falling in love with lace wigs there are many companies that sacrifice quality for quantity. If you do end up getting a less than stellar full lace wig there are a number of things that you can do to give it a more natural appearance.

Tweeze the Hairline

The hairline of a full lace-wig is the tell tale sign of a
lace wig

or not. The whole point of a lace-wig is to create a natural hairline. Unfortunately, some makers add too much hair in the hairline. This gives the wig an unnatural appearance as natural hair progresses in density. You have two options.

The first option is to go to a professional lace wig maker or store to have the density altered on your human hair lace wig. They will be able to customize the density as much as they can to the already created full lace-wig. This will rather expensive but you will end up with the best results. If you will end up paying for the alteration as much as you did the wig, strongly consider option two.

In the privacy of your own home, you can tweeze the hairline to a desired density. First, brush back all the hair in the lace-wig and put into a ponytail. This will allow you to see the hairline better without extra hair in the way. You can then begin tweezing strand by strand in the very first row of the lace. You will want to tweeze alternating rows so that you do not over pluck one section. Every once in a while, make sure to try on the wig to see if the density is at your desired level or not. It is better to take your time, go slowly and check your progress than over tweeze. Once the hair is removed, you cannot replace it on your own.

Wash with Apple Cider Vinegar

Synthetic lace wigs typically have a shine that alerts everyone that it is a wig. This rinse is a great option for human or synthetic lace-wigs. Apple cider vinegar will get rid of the shine, soften the hair and gentle cleanse. Simply add 1 tablespoon per 1 cup of water that you wash your lace-wig in. If you wash your wig in a bowl that holds 8 cups of water, add 8 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Why not regular vinegar? The acidity in vinegar helps to break down dirt from styling products in the wig. However, it does not soften the hair. The natural acidity and enzymes from the apple will soften hair and get rid of shine on your full lace-wig.

Brush With Baking Soda

After you dry your lace-wig, brush it with a light sprinkle of baking soda. Baking soda acts the same way as the apple cider vinegar by reducing shine. Place a teaspoon of baking soda on the brush and brush through the lace-wig. Make sure to evenly and thoroughly brush through the lace-wig. This will allow the shine to be the same all around.

Baking soda is also a great way to quickly get rid of shine from your full lace wig when you are on the go. Sprayed too much full lace wig

sheen? Forgot to wash the lace wig and now it is too late? Simply brush through with the baking soda for quick and effective results.

and starting at the nape of the neck. The amount of clips you use is up to you depending on the level of volume that you require. You simply clip the extensions to your own hair, working your way up your head. You open the clips and face them to the scalp then snap them into place.

For best results with clip in hair extensions you should style your own hair and the hair extensions separately. Clip in hair extensions can be worn all day and night, however you should take them out before sleeping. Clip in hair extensions are sometimes just worn for a night out and other people wear them everyday. This is because clip in hair extensions are versatile and quick to put in and take out. You don't require a professional to fit them for you; you can do it yourself at home. There is no messing around with glue, meaning there is no damage to your hair. Clip in hair extensions are also reasonable in price. They are one of the most affordable forms of hair extensions but do not lack in quality because of this, most are made using 100% human hair. You can choose from lengths such as 11" through to 28".

Another form of hair extensions is bonding/sealing. This is when your real hair is sectioned and the extensions are plaited to your own hair and painted with a bonding solution, this seals the extension around the hair. This form of hair extension can last up to four months, after the four months the bond starts to loosen. This type of extension must be attached by a professional as they can be extremely difficult to do at home yourself. If done yourself at home the attachments can be hard to handle and you run the risk of ruining your hair as well as getting uneven length that will look un-professional.

One other method that you may or may not be aware of is when it comes to hair extensions is the fusion method. This is when 20-50 strands of human hair extensions have warm protein glue placed on them and a plastic template separates sections of the hair, keeping it away from the scalp. Each piece of hair extension is attached with glue to your natural hair and the attachment of hair to hair extension is pulled through a hole in the plastic template. You should roll the extensions and you're natural hair together until a smooth bond is formed. This type of hair extension is a very long process and has to, with no exceptions be done on clean, washed hair, without the use of conditioner, otherwise the extensions won't stick correctly. When the time comes to remove hair extensions that have been fused on you should always get it done at a salon as the bond between the hair and extension needs to be softened and cracked; this is done with fusion remover and specialist tools

The last form of extensions that I'm going to mention is Bonding Weaves. These are very similar to clip in extensions; you cut a length of human hair to fit your head shape. The extensions are then glued to your head just below the parting. You can get the glue to do this from most clip in hair extension

and wig stores. This form of hair extension is safe to do at home and the removal of these hair extensions can also be done at home as the remover can also be purchased from the same stores as the glue. You should make sure you have the remover before you put the extensions in so you can guarantee you can get them out when needed.

Clip in Hair Extensions Vs Taped Hair Extensions [30 Jun 2011|09:41am]
I have worn every type of hair extensions method available so I feel the need to tell the world my experience on the best and worst. To cut a long story short I would never use the glue in bonded extensions or micro rings due to the damaging effects on the hair for extensions

.

Many salons now only specialize in two safe extensions products. Using only the best quality 100% Human Hair with the newest permanent extensions technology to hit the salon industry by storm!

Many salons offer this service now. With the clip in hair they also offer an apply and style service which is great if you are going to a wedding or other special event. Hair expo is also a good place to go to gain knowledge and further information on different methods of application as well as different quality.

These are the hair clips extensions

also known as the skin weft hair extensions are a great fix for a special event that can be worn and taken out in the same day taking only minutes. Whilst wearing they stay secure and discreet looking like your own natural hair. If you want a quick fix that is not permanent use clip in hair extensions. Clip in hair extensions do not damage your hair.

Have you ever wondered why your favorite star has short hair one minute and long hair the next? This is due to either clip on hair or tape hair which cause no damage hence why they always look so natural and great.

I wear the taped method in Australia and I would never be without them. They look much more natural that the single strand extensions. The best is remy human hair and I get mine from hair extensions wholesalers.

I hope you have found the above information useful for your decision on getting the correct extension to suit you.

Hair Replacement Centers

However, they offer an assortment of European hair extensions from such vendors as Jose Eber, Raquel Welch, Ren of Paris, Revlon, Look of Love, Flawless, and Graffiti. They offer discounts on orders of over 10 sets. They also offer a business opportunity for people interested in opening a Hair Replacement Center. For other wholesale hair extensions, you can check industry books. Hairdresser or cosmetologist trade magazines offer ads for clip hair
